I have done my research online to compare mobile phone monthly service plans and  there are a lot of options. I am interested in upgrading to a smart phone with text, email, internet and unlimited anytime calls.
Most plans require a 2 year service contract that you agree to when you buy a new cell phone and subscribe to a mobile phone service plan.
